It’s a marsupial, like the cuddly koala, but it eats meat. It’s a bit larger than a house cat and much smaller than some of its prey. Unlike the cartoon character Taz, it doesn’t turn into a whirlwind at the slightest provocation. Just make sure you don’t interrupt it during a meal. It eats quickly and thoroughly, devouring carcasses from head to toe. It has a stronger bite, relative to its size, than any other mammal. The Tasmanian devil is a fascinating beast that is best appreciated from a distance.
